Event Details

All Weekend - Trade stands and exhibitors in the arena including: Wiggle Focus, Madison, Ergon, Fli Distribution, Evolution Imports, Embers Merino, RJC Extreme, Science in Sport, Dodgy Gear, Giant Bicycles and Runner's World.

Saturday 26th April

08.30 - 10.00 Thunder Run Registration Open
Sign on in the catering tent, collect your race number and ChampionChip Timing Chip. Bags can be provided for post-race clothing etc.

10.00 - 18.00 Mountain Bike Races Registration Open
Every competitor must sign on in the catering tent, collect your race number and helpers number, ChampionChip Timing Chip and T-shirt if you ordered one. Make a note of your allocated Pit Number. A £5 deposit is required for the timing chip and will be returned when you hand your Timing Chip into registration at the end of the race.

Wiggle Thunder Run

10.30 - Wiggle Thunder Run 10k
Runners compete around a specially adapted 10km loop of Catton Park.

Post-Race - hand in your timing chip at the exit funnel and receive you event goody bag.

12.15 (approx) - Thunder Run Prize Presentation

13.30 - 19.00 Focus Demo Day & Mountain Bike Course Practice
The course will be fully marked and open for practice. Demo bikes for you to test ride will be available from Focus, Genisis from Madison, Giant, Yeti and Fli Distribution/Solid Bikes.

Focus Night Time-Trial

20.00 onwards - Focus Night-time Time Trial
Riders are set off individually at one minute intervals and must complete one lap of the 6 mile Wiggle Enduro Six course in the shortest time possible. Start times will be posted in registration. Lights are compulsory for this event.

07.00 - 08.30 Registration & Pits Open

09.00 - Pre-Race briefing at the finish/start line

Enduro 6

10.00 -Wiggle Enduro 6 MTB Race
500 competitors will test themselves around a 6mile course of undulating terrain to see how many laps they can fit into the 6 hours.

The race will start with a short Le-Mans style run. The unique 'parc ferme' format means that riders are allocated a pit area to keep everything they need for the duration of the race. Once the race starts the pits are secured.

PIT TIPS - Suggestions of things you might want in your pit are: spare bike, tyres, tubes, pump, tools, lube, chain, food and drink, Thermos of hot water, extra clothing, waterproof jacket, sun cream (we can hope!), folding chair, umbrella, small tent, warm clothes for inbetween laps, sense of humour (essential!)...

16.00 - Race End Complete your lap
The last rider should finish around 16.40.

17.20 (approx) - Prize Giving for Enduro 6 & Time-Trial
Prizes will be awarded to the top three in each category. We invite all the competitors to stay and show their support for the category winners.

Venue Information

Catton Park in Staffordshire is a first class venue with an established track record of endurance mountain biking. Facilities available from Friday morning until Sunday evening include:

  • Free camping. (Friday morning until 8pm Sunday evening.)
  • Excellent facilities, including hot showers and flushing toilets.
  • Trackside parking, to get you right up close to where the action is.
  • Excellent catering facilities.
  • On-site drinking water.
  • Extremely well marshalled and signed course.

Directions to Catton Park, Staffordshire (DE12 8LN):

Approach from the A38 between Lichfield and Burton-on-Trent. Leave the A38 at the junction signposted Alrewas and take the A513 towards Tamworth. After 1.5miles you will go under a narrow railway bridge and take the immediate left turn. After 1 mile you will see the race arena on the right hand side.

Catton Park Rules

  • Speed limit 5mph in the park. Please restrict the use of your vehicle and beware of speed ramps, uneven ground, children, dogs, bikes etc.
  • Between 11.30pm and 7am the park gates will be secured and there will be limited access. If you are arriving between these times please use extreme caution.
  • Dogs must be kept on a short lead and clean up after them!
  • No open fires.
  • Skips are provided for all litter disposal. Please bag up all your rubbish making sure your camping area/pit is completely litter free before you leave.

Event Rules

All competitors will have received a set of rules for each event and should familiarise themselves with them. Bullet points for the Enduro 6 Mountain Bike Race are laid out below:

  • Enduro 6 is a parc-ferme event. Once the event has started competitors and helpers must not leave their allocated pit area or receive help from anybody else.
  • Pairs must hand over in their pit area.
  • There is no feedzone. All riders must pick up fresh bottles and food in their pit area.
  • In case of a mechanical breakdown, you must complete the lap you are on.
  • If you complete a lap just before the 6 hour mark you must GO OUT AGAIN. You cannot start a lap after 6 hours.
  • No loitering on your last lap - wait in the pits before starting your last lap if you don't want to do another one after that.
  • The winner is the rider who has completed the most laps after the 6 hours has elapsed.
